Job Description

This position is responsible for the maintenance, reviewing, checking, and processing of CAP and Medicaid Transportation billing as well as reconciling, generating, preparing, and submitting monthly reports to the state. This position will serve as backup for the agency’s switchboard operator as well as assist in the preparation of the agency’s DSS-1571 Report, a report that generates reimbursements monthly. This position will be responsible for gathering, balancing, and electronically submitting a vast amount of information in a timely manner to the state monthly as well as any other duties assigned that will assist the Administration Unit of the agency in fulfilling its fiscal obligations. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school including or supplemented by basic courses in bookkeeping or accounting and three years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting clerical work in an accounting office. Note: In accordance with State mandates and the Halifax County Emergency Operations Plan, Halifax County Social Services staff are required to staff emergency shelters during times of disaster. Please be advised that every staff person is eligible to be assigned to an emergency shelter or Emergency Operations Center. The hiring range for this position is $26,940 - $34,111.  Halifax County provides a comprehensive employee benefits package, including membership in the N.C.
