Accounting Technician III

The County is currently accepting applications for the position of Accounting Technician III. This position prepares DSS 1571 Reimbursement Reports; processes accounts payable, accounts receivable, employee travel reimbursements, foster care clothing, and room and board payments; assists budget analyst in preparing for external audit and fiscal monitoring annually; maintains inventory control of fixed asset records and ledgers requiring the segregation of monies and expenditures into a number of accounts; reconciles trust account bank statements; prepares reports for Medicaid Transportation reimbursement; and assists with financial reports. Requires considerable knowledge of governmental accounting principles and State fiscal policy; above average computer skills and the ability to learn computer software; strong communication skills; attention to detail; and ability to prioritize work to meet imposed deadlines. Requires an Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field and two years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting clerical work; or graduation from high school including or supplemented by basic courses in bookkeeping or accounting and four years experience in bookkeeping or accounting clerical work; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Degrees/coursework must be from an accredited institution. Starting Salary $41,500 - $45,600 (commensurate with experience) and excellent benefits package available.
