Job Description

COMPENSATION/GRADE:  $34,457/9                                                          Position #:  011.512.1262   CLOSING DATE:  February 1, 2021   Job Description The primary purpose of this position involves establishing, initiating child support orders, locating non-custodial parents, establishing medical insurance coverage, monitoring and enforcing child support orders. Contested cases are prepared for court by gathering evidence on the case and referring to the IV-D attorney. This position requires the ability to produce high quality results under pressure of tight time frames, high caseloads, and scarce resources.     Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Considerable knowledge of the Child Support Enforcement Program and applicable legal procedures; considerable ability to interview clients, absent parents and related sources, and to investigate cases; considerable ability to organize, analyze and summarize case information; basic math skills; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and absent parents, location resources, offices of the Clerk of Court, Magistrates, District Attorney, Sheriff, other court officials, and private attorneys. Bilingual in English and Spanish is a desired qualification.   Minimum Education & Experience Graduation from high school and two years of experience in eligibility, investigative, judiciary, or legal work that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform the work; or an associate degree in business administration, human resources, law enforcement or closely related degree and one year experience in eligibility, investigative, judiciary, or legal work that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform the work; or a four year degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.   Physical Requirements This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force; work regularly requires sitting, speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms and repetitive motions and occasionally requires standing, walking and pushing or pulling; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data; ; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).
