Job Description

The County is currently accepting applications for the position of Child Support Agent II. This position interviews applicants for services and non-custodial parents; gathers necessary information to prepare legal documents to establish voluntary and involuntary support orders; enforces established or existing court orders; locates absent parents to establish paternity, by legal processes; assists the DSS Attorney by gathering evidence and testifying in court; negotiates with parents and prepares Voluntary Support Agreements; and provides case management services and initiates legal actions to enforce and/or modify judicial support orders. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree and six months of experience in eligibility, investigative, judicial-related, or legal work; or an Associate’s Degree and two years of experience in eligibility, investigative, judicial-related, or legal work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Degree/Coursework must be from an appropriately accredited institution. A valid driver’s license is required. Starting Salary $45,700 - $50,200 (commensurate with experience) and excellent benefits package available.
