Job Description
Are you a highly motivated, high-energy multi-tasker with dynamic leadership ability who builds coalitions and partnerships in communities? This position coordinates outreach functions including volunteer engagement, faith community partnerships, communications and other outreach as well as oversees community engagement events internally and externally.
This position is part-time, with prorated benefits, working 20 hours per week with ability to work flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends. Can work from home.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Community Relations and Outreach
This position has responsibility for outreach functions including volunteer engagement, faith community partnerships, communications and outreach. Oversees community engagement events internally and externally, community tours & coffees, presentations to community organizations & service clubs, and liaisons with community.
- Plan and promote child abuse prevention activities and trainings
- Recruit and orient volunteers
- Expand Social networking
- Facilitate meetings with Protection Council
- Event planning
- Civic presentations
- Attending public events
- Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Business, Education, Human Services, or a related field and 1 year of experience in community engagement, outreach, and/or education, OR
- Associates degree in Public Relations, Business, Education, Human Services, or a related field and 3 years of experience in community engagement, outreach, and/or education, OR
- High School diploma or GED equivalent and 5 years of experience in community engagement, outreach, and/or education
- A valid NC Driver’s license with a safe driving record; car for use during work and auto liability insurance
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends
- Prior community organizing, campaign organizing
- High energy, initiative, and creativity are desired
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Strong command of MS Office tools including Power Point, Excel and Word, social media platforms
- This is considered light work; lifting up to 20 pounds
