What You'll Be Doing
The Wake County Health & Human Services Department seeks a dynamic leader for the role of Economic & Social Services Division Director. As a Division Director you will provide leadership and guidance to Assistant Directors, Program Managers, and staff responsible for programs and projects within the Division. This position is one of two Division Directors reporting to the Deputy Director for Social Services. - - Providing direct supervision to three Assistant Division Directors, the Continuous Quality Improvement Program Manager, the Data Analytics Supervisor, and indirect supervision of the Program ManagersÂ
- - Ensuring compliance with federal, state and county regulations assuring that services are provided in a manner that results in positive outcomes for Wake County residentsÂ
- - Analyzing and evaluate outcomes and performance measures for the DivisionÂ
- - Ensuring that Quality Improvement activities are implementedÂ
- - Ensuring effective service delivery processes are in place for Division programs Â
- - Working with community partners to maximize outreach to the community and access to servicesÂ
- - Ensuring best practices in customer service and that the Division complies with client rights, policies and procedures
- - Preparing and submitting Division budget to the Deputy Director after consultation with Division leadership
- - Monitoring budget on a regular basis and working closely with Budget and Finance staffÂ
- - Assisting Deputy Director and other Division leaders in establishing long range plans for the agencyÂ
- - Providing support to the HS Board and Social Services committeeÂ

- - Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Health or related fieldÂ
- - Six (6) years of management experienceÂ
- - Ten (10) years of experience managing economic/social services programs in a local Department of Social Services
- - Excellent budget planning and justification ability
- - Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Health, or a related field
- - Six (6) to ten (10) years of experience managing Social Service programs
- - Thorough knowledge of county, state and federal policies governing social services programs
- - Superior customer service skills, integrity, and commitment to collaboration
- - Strong management and leadership skills
- - Strong communication and public speaking skills
- - Ability to manage multiple projects/initiatives simultaneously
