Job Description
SALARY RANGE: $49,340.27 - $81,411.45 (Compensation negotiable within the salary range for fully qualified applicants. Salary rates are based on education, skill, and experience level as well as internal equity and market rates.)
Catawba County Social Services is recruiting for an experienced social worker to fill a role of Recruiter/Trainer for foster care. The purpose of this position is to annually plan and implement strategic recruitment, support, and effective ongoing training of resource parents to achieve safety, placement stability, and timely permanence for children in foster care. This position is also responsible for managing events and activities for resource families and children in foster care and recruitment and oversight of volunteers, donations, and child welfare supply closet. This position works regular day hours, but also requires evening and weekend hours to conduct trainings and coordinate events.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Train/assess prospective resource families and coordinate trainings for active resource families, which includes creation of yearly training calendar
- Recruit new resource families and support/retain current resource families
- Oversee and manage Family Builders volunteers and donations for child welfare
- Coordinate special events for child welfare
- Maintain data and complete data analysis
- Review all new license applications for accuracy prior to submission
- Master’s degree from an accredited school of social work; or
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of social work and one year of social work experience; or
- Four-year degree in a human service field with two years of social work experience; or
- Four-year degree in a non-human service field with three years of social work experience
- Valid Driver’s license with safe driving record
- Excellent active listening and communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as interviewing skills
- Strong organizational skills with ability to work independently, multi-task, and prioritize
- Excellent collaboration skills/ability to effectively interact with public
- Excellent assessment skills with solid knowledge of grief and loss and the impact related to fostering and adopting
- Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Effective knowledge of child welfare, social work philosophy and policy, and licensing policy
- This is considered Light Work, lifting up to 20 pounds required.
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work
- Knowledge of trauma informed care and how it relates to foster and adoptive families
- Experience with public speaking and engaging community stakeholders
