Job Description
Job Purpose
The Income Maintenance Caseworker I will have responsibilities to coordinate, organize and assist in operations of the reception area for the Department of Social Services. Within this position the candidate will need to exhibit excellent customer service skills, working knowledge and experience in general administrative functions and use of general office equipment.
Responsibilities
- Gathers and gives information and instructions regarding the work process and procedures
- Records and compiles information based on general guidelines
- Maintains high level of professionalism and to conduct business in an ethical manner at all times
- Coordinates work of other support staff, student workers or volunteers
- Screens communications based on predetermined guidelines
- Obtains data for documentation and verification of information needed in determining eligibility
- Detects need for other agency services and make appropriate referrals
- Performs tasks involving a high degree of accuracy
- Learns the intricacies of numerous forms and procedures of the eligibility programs
- Uses a variety of office equipment
- Serves as a receptionist for the agency helping to provide directional information, community resources, agency forms and applications.
