IMC III – Adult Medicaid (LTC)

Are you an experienced Income Maintenance Caseworker/Eligibility Specialist looking for a challenging new role?  Catawba County Social Services is recruiting for an IMC (Eligibility Specialist) III to determine eligibility for Adult Medicaid – Long Term Care and Special Assistance Programs. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

• Salary is negotiable for applicants who are fully qualified.  (2 years or more of Income Maintenance experiences in Medicaid, particularly Adult Medicaid or Long Term Care)
• In order to be fully qualified, applicants must possess two years of experience in income maintenance eligibility in a Department of Social Services.  However, trainees with at least one year of income maintenance eligibility experience may be accepted.  Trainee salary is $36,379.42.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Determine eligibility for the Medicaid for the Aged, Blind, and Disabled and Special Assistance programs by interviewing, researching, verifying information, and gathering data from citizens applying for assistance.
• Primary responsibility for determining eligibility for Long Term Care, CAP, PACE, and Special Assistance
• Interpret State and Federal guidelines and determining how they apply to each individual situation
• Manage Data in complex computer systems
• Explanation and enrollment in Carolina Access and proper use of electronic benefit card (EBT card)
• Educate clients to assure they are fully aware of the change reporting requirements
• Manage an ongoing caseload by redetermining eligibility and reacting to numerous changes under strict deadlines
• Referral of applicants/recipients to other social services programs and community services

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Associate’s degree in Human Services, Business, or a closely related field and 2 years of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker; or
• High School diploma or GED equivalent and 3 years of demonstrated experience with mathematical work and/or public contact involving interviewing, gathering, and compiling information, including 2 years of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker.
