Job Description

Description of Job Duties:   The primary purpose of this position is to provide direct leadership in the areas of administration, supervision, coordination and day-to-day operations of the Income Maintenance Section which includes Adult Medicaid, Family & Children’s Medicaid, Quality Assurance/Training, Non-Emergency Medical Transportation, Work First Employment, Child Care, Economic Services Support, Food & Nutrition Services and Program Integrity.  This position reports directly to the Director.  This position is responsible for providing direct supervision to 5 supervisors (3 IMS III and 2 IMS II) to ensure they are directing their staff to adhere to specific policies and procedures when administering Federal and State mandated programs. This position is responsible for administrative and technical needs of the section. This position must plan and organize the workflow to ensure the section goals are met. This position sets program performance standards and ensures compliance. This position conducts staff meetings and individual conferences with supervisors; evaluates and recommends disciplinary actions if necessary; conducts interviews for vacant positions and makes recommendations for hire to the Director. Administrator monitors employees’ hours worked and approves leave. This position is also responsible for working directly with the Director and other management team members in internal planning, budgeting, community planning and community relations. This employee will learn and use programs Compass Pilot and Compass Appointments (Compass Co-Pilot, if issued a DSS iPad) as required by position to do, but not limited to: request leave, schedule/receive appropriate appointments, set up virtual files, scan/retrieve documents, receive/send tasks. Educational/Experience Requirements: Three years of supervisory or administrative experience, two of which must have been in income maintenance or service program and preferably with one year of experience in an income maintenance program; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Â
