Brunswick County Department of Social Services is accepting applications for Income Maintenance Caseworker II for Adult Medicaid, Family and Children’s Medicaid, and Food and Nutrition Services (FNS).  We are looking for the right people to join our Team. Job Description Income Maintenance Caseworker II: IMC II workers determine eligibility for Medicaid and Food and Nutrition Services (Food Stamps).   Job duties include interviewing clients, reviewing documentation, and data entry into NC FAST.  Intro to Human Services certificate and/or NC FAST experience are helpful.  The ideal candidate can work independently and as a member of a team. Job responsibilities include:
  • Complete timely and accurate applications, recertifications, and changes.
  • Complete NCFAST Tasks daily.
  • Enters data into NC FAST and county document management system.
  • Attend training.
  • Stay abreast of policy updates.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of NC FAST

Qualifications Graduation from an accredited associate degree program in Human Services Technology, Social Services Associated, Paralegal Technology, Business Administration, Secretarial, or a closely related curriculum; or graduation from high school and three years of paraprofessional, clerical, or other public contact, which included negotiating, interviewing, explaining information, gathering and compiling of data, analysis of data and/or performance of mathematical program; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Experience with NC FAST Highly Desirable and /or Income Maintenance Caseworker/NC FAST and Intro to Human Services Certificate. Physical Requirements Must be physically able to operate a variety of automated office machines, which includes calculators, copiers, facsimile machines, etc. Must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pound of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for periods of time.
