Job Description Income Maintenance Caseworker II/ Family and Children Medicaid A Family and Children Medicaid Caseworker completes interviews and processes applications and or recertifications and household changes in both the NCFAST system as well as our local document management system.  This worker will communicate closely with customers and supervision/management. The goal of this position is to ensure the agency is meeting quality and timeliness standards for the State for the Economic Services Family and Children Medicaid Program. Job responsibilities include:
  • Complete timely and accurate applications or recertifications.
  • Complete timely and accurately all reported changes.
  • Complete NCFAST Tasks daily.
  • Calculate and budget payments accurately.
  • Handle all concerns for customers related to eligibility decisions, processing timelines and allotment amounts
  • Trouble shoot all cases and access appropriately prior to sending them to the Supervisor or Family and Children Medicaid Program Specialist
  • Compiles and enters data into NC FAST and county document management system.
  • Attend all related refresher and mandatory training given by the State as well as our internal QA unit
  • Review NC Fast postcards and stay abreast of accurate interpretation and application of updates and changes sent via the State

Qualifications Graduation from an accredited associate degree program in Human Services Technology, Social Services Associated, Paralegal Technology, Business Administration, Secretarial, or a closely related curriculum; or graduation from high school and three years of paraprofessional, clerical, or other public contact, which included negotiating, interviewing, explaining information, gathering and compiling of data, analysis of data and/or performance of mathematical program; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Experience with NC FAST Highly Desirable and /or Income Maintenance Caseworker/NC FAST and Intro to Human Services Certificate. Physical Requirements Must be physically able to operate a variety of automated office machines, which includes calculators, copiers, facsimile machines, etc. Must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pound of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for periods of time.
