DESCRIPTION:
The Johnston County Department of Social Services has an immediate opening for an Income Maintenance Caseworker III- Adult Medicaid Quality Assurance Analyst, located at 714 North Street, Smithfield. Preference will be given to applicants with Adult Medicaid experience. Internal applicants must apply on online; will accept work against if fully qualified applicants are not located. Please note: Final applicant subject to pre-employment drug screen, criminal records and DMV check. Background checks and drug screens will be conducted on all final candidates and on all employees who are promoted.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary purpose of this position is to perform quality assurance work to ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations related to providing clients with public assistance. Essential Functions of the position are to perform quality assurance reviews on cases within Economic Services to ensure policies are being followed and benefits are determined and provided in accordance with established policy. Perform case audits to ensure compliance with agency, state and federal policy and requirements. Gather, analyze and compile trends identified during quality reviews.
  KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of all economic services programs related to public assistance and continued learning to stay up to date on policies. Knowledge of NC FAST system and all associated systems. Ability to effectively utilize software programs designed to gather, monitor and analyze data trends. Knowledge of agency and community programs and services which could affect the client/applicant. Ability to concentrate and perform inspections with great attention to detail. Ability to learn the program area of assignment and all agency programs and services which could affect the client/applicant. Ability to express ideas effectively orally and in writing. Ability to analyze and comprehend a variety of technical and administrative regulation, records, and reports. Ability to set priorities, implement changes and organize.
  DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Two years of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Preference will be given to applicants with Adult Medicaid experience.
