Income Maintenance Caseworker III

Primary Purpose of Position: The primary purpose of this position is to analyze, maintain and resolve special projects/reports to include the complex underpayment and overpayment processing of the Child Care Subsidy Services. This worker will assist in evaluating/creating training needs for the unit based on compliance reports and troubleshooting resolutions and provide backup for the Local Provider Assistant Role. This worker will also take and process applications and redetermine ongoing eligibility cases for Child Care Subsidy Services. Knowledge and Skill Requirements: Considerable knowledge of the program/areas of assignment. General knowledge of all agency and community programs and services which could affect the client/applicant. Good mathematical reasoning and computational skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret rules, regulations and procedures. Ability to communicate with clients/applicants, the public at large, and public officials to obtain data, and to explain and interpret rules, regulations and procedures. Ability to instruct and to evaluate the work of lower level employees. Ability to perform caseworker functions within structured time frames. Minimum Training and Experience: Two years of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Valid North Carolina driver license required.
