Job Description

Provide quality assurance and technical expertise to Food and Nutrition Services Program Employee in this position will be responsible to provide quality assurance and technical expertise in Food and Nutrition Services for all functions including applications and recertifications.  Responsibilities include evaluating case records, benefit amounts and communication with customers to ensure proper procedure is followed in the delivery of customer benefits.  Through the utilization of assessment tools and data collection methods, strengths and needs should be determined to provide input on development of program training and procedures.  Employee must remain abreast of policy changes across Food and Nutrition Services and be proficient in the analysis of program wide problem areas which include recommendations for corrective action.  Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills are imperative for this position. Must possess considerable knowledge of all agency and community programs and services which could affect the customer/applicant as well as a general knowledge of all income maintenance programs. Must have the skills and ability to evaluate the work of employees and assure accurate and timely reporting of case record review and emerging error trends.  Good mathematical reasoning and computational skills is essential at this level of income maintenance casework. Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret a variety of regulations, policies and procedure of varying complexity as well as the ability to work independently and prioritize work.   Additional duties include assistance with organizing and preparing for federal, state and local audits and the representation of the agency in advocating for services needed to serve this population, act as a hearing officer in the Economic Services area.   Employee will also be responsible for provided appropriate feedback on areas of development noted and to assist with any additional quality assurance requirements identified. Minimum Training and Experience Requirements: Must meet minimum qualifications for IMC I and have two years additional experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
