Job Description

Description: Thorough knowledge of Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) Program Employee in this position will be responsible for planning and conducting training curriculums to meet employee training needs.  Responsibilities include writing, designing, developing and continuously improving FNS curriculums designed to enhance the competence of individual employees.  Must have the ability to train employees in new and existing rules, regulations, policies and procedures for applications, reviews and changes. Employee must have the ability to accurately evaluate the work of employees and provide professional feedback to staff, supervisors and program managers. Employee will act as Over the Shoulder Support (OSS) personnel. In this function, work would include; troubleshooting problem cases in NC Fast system and acting as the liaison between the agency and NC Fast Help Desk.  Employee must have programmatic knowledge of all aspects in order to advise and direct staff on policies and regulations of the income maintenance program(s) and NCFAST.  Updating NC FAST and Compass systems is essential. Must possess considerable knowledge of FNS forms and documents used in determining eligibility for applications, as well as considerable knowledge in the usage of the income maintenance manuals.  Good mathematical reasoning and computational skills is essential at this level of income maintenance casework. Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret a variety of regulations, policies and procedure of varying complexity as well as the ability to work independently and prioritize work.  Must have ability to communicate effectively with staff, supervisors, and program managers to obtain pertinent data needed to determine current and future training needs.  Must have ability to present information orally and in written form.  Must possess the ability to understand the needs and problems of customers/applicants and to perform caseworker function under and within structured time frames and assume other duties and roles as assigned. Minimum Training and Experience Requirements: Must meet minimum qualifications for IMC I and have two years additional experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker working in Food and Nutrition Services.
