The primary purpose of this position is to train new caseworkers to intake, determine initial eligibility and to Re-determine ongoing eligibility for assistance through Medicaid programs including Medicaid to the Aged, Blind and Disabled (MAABD); Medicaid for persons in Long Term Care Facilities (LTC); Medicaid for Community Alternatives Program (CAP); Special Assistance to Adults in Domiciliary Facilities and In-Home Special Assistance (SAABD) and all categories of Medicaid to Qualified Beneficiaries (MQB-Q, MQB-B, and MQB-E). This involves interviewing clients to obtain all pertinent data concerning the clients’ family composition, financial, employment and health status; completing initial applications, verifying the information obtained, determining eligibility and completing the re - determination review of the client’s case on a periodic basis in order to determine the client’s eligibility for continued participation in the program. Monitors the application management reports and the case management reports weekly to ensure that applications and reviews are completed timely. This worker will also be responsible for making proper referrals within and outside the agency. This worker will be responsible for training other workers within the unit.
