Job Description

Description of Job Duties:  The primary purpose of this position is to assume supervisory responsibilities for the Economic Services Support Unit.  The Economic Services Support Unit consists of ten (10) Income Maintenance Caseworker I positions. This position must plan and organize the workflow to ensure that unit goals are met.  This position is responsible for training new and ongoing staff with policies and procedures including the Northwoods Compass Appointments, Pilot and Copilot. This position ensures that policy and procedures are followed.  This position sets program performance standards and ensures compliance for staff directly supervised. This position conducts monthly staff meetings and monthly individual conferences with staff; evaluates and recommends disciplinary action if necessary; conducts interviews for vacant positions within this unit and makes recommendations for new staff.  This position is responsible for all DSS reception areas of the County Office Building.   Supervisor monitors employees’ hours worked and approves leave. This employee will learn and use programs Compass Pilot and Compass Appointments (Compass Co-Pilot, if issued a DSS iPad) as required by position to do, but not limited to: request leave, schedule/receive appropriate appointments, set up virtual files, scan/retrieve documents, receive/send tasks. Educational/Experience Requirements: Three years of experience as a caseworker or investigator in an income maintenance program, preferably with one year of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
