Forsyth County Government
Forsyth County Department of Social Services is seeking a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who is fully licensed to provide therapy services for children and families through the Family and Children’s Division of the Forsyth DSS. This position supports the needs of children, ages 3-21, and families who are involved with Child Welfare Services to meet their social, emotional and psychological needs. The clinician in this position will provide Outpatient Therapy services, therapeutic groups, parent coaching, and coordinate case management between Forsyth DSS, community providers, and the Court. Training in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Parent Child Interaction Therapy, and/or any evidenced based training is preferred. Job duties and responsibilities take place Monday through Friday primarily in an office setting with some in-home and community assessments required at times. This Licensed Clinician position serves the primary purpose of ensuring the safety and well-being of children (3-21 years old) in Forsyth County who have been reported to be abused, neglected, and/or dependent juveniles. The Licensed Clinician supports these goals by providing parent coaching and therapy to families and children who have experienced trauma and neglect. Clinicians also provide therapy to post adoption cases, as necessary; attend court, submit court reports and recommendations, and testify in those cases in which they are involved. Most sessions take place in the office; however, some sessions may take place off site. Team collaboration is a critical component of the job as siblings are often seen by other LCSW’s in the department. The ability to communicate clearly with social work staff, court staff, and parents is required.
