What You'll Be Doing

Play an integral role in ensuring children in Wake County remain safe from harm, and have a safe place to sleep at night.  This is your chance to make a huge impact as Prevention and Placement Services Supervisor in our Child Welfare Division; a position that may be just what you have been looking for! This position is for a compassionate and caring individual who will serve as Child Welfare Neighborhood Network Supervisor. Being able to work well with others, is a must. This is a multifaceted role that collaborates with the Public School & Charter School systems to implement techniques designed to increase child & family well-being and prevent child abuse, by ensuring access to resources for underserved families.  Some of what you will be doing:
  • Providing direct supervision and coaching to for a team of Neighborhood Network (Prevention) Social Workers who provide placement, case management & parent education services to families involved with child welfare, and in the community to prevent involvement with child welfare
  • Having an integral role in the county's Child Abuse Prevention Plan by working closely with internal and external partners in the ongoing development of services for families
  • Serving as a member of the Neighborhood Network Leadership Team and representing the agency in various settings
  • Preparing program and department reports and other required documentation
  • Building and expanding upon existing program models, infrastructures, systems, processes and procedure
  • Working closely with leadership on a strong program model to have clear data and metrics, fidelity measures and the ability to conduct program evaluation
  • Working closely with external partners (Wake County Public School System, Charter School Systems, SAFEChild, Triple P, Project Enlightenment, National Alliance of Children’s Trust, Stewards of Children)

The Basics (Required Education and Experience)

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Three years of job-related experience
  • Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)

  • Experience in program development, sustainability and partnership development
  • Experience working with the Public School System
  • Knowledge and experience in facilitating multi-disciplinary team meetings
