Job Description

Title: Social Work Program Administrator I          

Department: Social Services Salary Range: $56,777.72 - $72,390.58 Closing Date: 5/27/2022 at 5:00 pm Description of Work: The primary purpose of this position is the supervision, management and oversight of the agency’s  Children and Adult Services units. This position requires the provision of leadership, direct involvement in operational matters, and short-range and long-range planning of social work and other related services. This position plays a large role on the agency’s Management Team and works collaboratively to develop strategic goals for the agency. In addition, this position must develop strong partnership with community stakeholders and serve as a liaison between the department and partner agencies.  Work also involves the ongoing review of programs, quality assurance of services, compliance with standards, and ongoing direct supervision of Permanency Planning supervisors, Adult Services Supervisors, and the CPS Program Manager. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: The ideal candidate should have a thorough knowledge of methods and principles related casework supervision and training. In addition, the candidate must have a thorough knowledge of State, Federal policies, and procedures relevant to services, as well as a sound knowledge base in laws and policy relevant to child and adult welfare.  Candidates must have knowledge of service functions and tasks specific to all service programs, including but not limited to adoptions, foster care, intake, adult and child protective services, Community Alternative Program, rest home licensure, day care, in-home aide services, and all other supportive and preventive services. The ideal candidate must have a well-founded base in social work theory, adult learning theory, child development, behavioral health services, the impact of trauma, family dynamics, group dynamics, and community organization theory. In addition, the ideal candidate should have a working knowledge of child placement system, and be able to form strong working relationship with child placing agencies Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: A master’s degree from an accredited school of social work and four years of social work or counseling experience, two of which were supervisory; or bachelor’s degree in social work and five years of social work or counseling experience, two of which were supervisory; or bachelor’s degree in a human services field or related curriculum including at least 15 semester hours in courses related to social work or counseling and six years of social work or counseling experience, two of which were supervisory; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
