Job Description Social Work Program Support Specialist A Program Support Specialist works with both Children and Adult Services staff in a supportive role by coordinating and facilitating Child and Family Team Meetings, completing case reviews, providing feedback on the findings of reviews, and helping to ensure the agency is following state and federal guidelines.   Job responsibilities include:
  • Coordinating and Facilitating Child and Family Team meetings that involve agency staff, families working with the department, family support systems, and community partners.
    • These meetings may take place both during and outside regular business hours, based on the needs of the families.
    • These meetings may take place in the agency or in the community, based on the needs of the family.
  • Complete Case reviews on open and closed Child Welfare and Adult Services cases to help ensure the agency follows State and Federal guidelines, policies, and procedures
  • Assist in gathering and preparing cases for State and Federal reviews.
  • Assist with completed background checks, organizing cases, scanning information, and supporting Adult and Children Services programs as needed.

Other Information Normal Business Hours are 8:30 am - 5:00 pm Monday - Friday.  Must be available to work after normal business hours and during emergency situations. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution; bachelor’s degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of directly related experience; bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two years’ directly related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Physical Requirements Must be physically able to operate a variety of automated office machines, which include typewriters, calculators, copiers, facsimile machines, etc. Must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pound of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for periods of time.
