Social Work Supervisor (Adult Home Specialists and Guardianship Social Workers)

Essential Duties New Hanover County is seeking  a social work supervisor to join the Adult Services section of the Social Services department. This position is responsible for supervising the daily performance and activities of social workers whose responsibilities include: providing guardianship services to adults who are determined to be mentally incompetent by the Court and are in need of a guardian; monitoring adult care homes; assisting families with locating appropriate placements for aging and/or disabled adults; and serving as back up for Adult Protective Services.   Duties include assigning and evaluating work; monitoring the progress of cases; processing immediate risk situations to clients and making appropriate decisions; and reviewing case documentation to ensure adherence to state standards. Supervisory experience and experience working at a department of social services preferred. Must have good driving record and own transportation. Licenses/Certifications Valid NC Driver's License. Other Information Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday through Friday;  A county vehicle will be provided to the selected candidate for use commuting to perform duties.  Must be available to work during emergency situations.
