Social Work Supervisor III

The primary purpose of this organizational position is to oversee all services of the social work staff provided to the elderly and disabled citizens of the county and keep the Services Program Manager and Director abreast of the status of the unit. The primary purpose of this position is to supervise all social work services for elderly and disabled citizens which are provided by the agency. This will involve working with each social worker in reviewing and staffing cases, identifying training needs and working with the Program Manager and Director in providing or arranging for the needed training, consulting with staff from the Divisions of Social Services, Health Services Regulation and Aging, advocating on behalf of the clients and unit in the community, having input into employees selected for the unit when vacancies occur, evaluating employees, assessing needs for corrective action or discipline, being involved in any disciplinary action when warranted by members of the unit, and monitoring the budget with regard to expenditures and revenues needed to meet the needs of the targeted population.
