SOCIAL WORK SUPERVISOR III
Position # 732611 Salary Range: $61,356 - $96,974
Primary Purpose of Position: The primary purpose of this position is to supervise Children's Protective Services Assessments/Intake/and On-Call and those cases where there has been a substantiation of child abuse, neglect, and/or dependency and there is a need for Children's Protective Services In-Home Services. This position is also responsible for the screening and assigning reports of alleged child abuse, neglect, and/or dependency. The Child Protective Services Unit consists of six Social Worker Investigative/Assessment and Treatment (SW I/A&T) positions servicing children alleged to be abused, neglected, or dependent. The Social Worker's in this unit complete thorough assessments of reports of suspected child abuse, neglect, and dependency. The Social Worker is to assess the continued need for Children's Protective Services, and provide the necessary instruction/guidance/mentoring/modeling to the family regarding strategies to improve parenting and strengthen family skills to resolve the issues which resulted in the substantiation of abuse, neglect, and/or dependency. Please refer to the organizational chart of the unit for specific positions placed under the supervision of this position.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of methods and principles of casework supervision and training. Considerable knowledge of social work principles, techniques and practices and their application to specific casework and community problems. Considerable knowledge of behavioral and socioeconomic problems and their treatment and governmental and private organizations and community resources. Considerable knowledge of the laws, regulations and policies which govern social work programs. Ability to supervise, train, or orient lower-level social workers, students, interns, or other staff. Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely and to plan and execute work effectively.
Minimum Training and Experience: Master's degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of directly related experience; or a bachelor's degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of directly related experience; or a master's degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of directly related experience; or a bachelor's degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of directly related experience; or a bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
