Job Description

The County is currently accepting applications for the position of Social Work Supervisor III (Adult Services). This position includes advanced level supervisory work in the guidance and coordination of professional and support personnel engaged in the social work operations of Adult Services Unit within the Department of Social Services including Adult Protective Services, Guardianship, Adult Care Home Case Management, Special Assistance In Home Services, Adult Day Care and other Adult Services Programs; assigns work to staff; counseling staff on their work; assists staff in the interpretation of regulations, procedures, and other relevant information. Requires extensive knowledge of federal, state, and county laws, regulations, guidelines and procedures involving activities supervised; considerable knowledge of social work principles, techniques and practices and their application to specific casework and community problems. Requires mastery of MS Office applications, including MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS Excel and the ability to utilize a variety of software applications to accomplish the work. Minimum qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Social Work and two years of social work or counseling experience; or a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and three years of social work or counseling experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Degree/Coursework must be from an appropriately accredited institution. If degree is not in Social Work, please submit a copy of college transcript with application.
