The County is currently accepting applications for the position of Social Work Supervisor III (Child Protective Services). This position performs advanced level supervisory work in the guidance and coordination of professional and support personnel engaged in the social work operations of the Foster Care Unit within the Department of Social Services; assigns work to staff; interprets regulations, procedures, and other information for staff; and counsels staff on their work. Requires extensive knowledge of federal, state, and county laws, regulations, guidelines and procedures involving activities supervised; considerable knowledge of social work principles, techniques and practices and their application to specific casework and community problems; considerable knowledge of the laws, regulations, and policies which govern social work programs; and the ability to supervise and train social workers in the performance of job responsibilities. Minimum qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Social Work and two years of social work or counseling experience; or a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and three years of social work or counseling experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Degree/Coursework must be from an appropriately accredited institution. A valid driver’s license is required.
