Job Purpose The primary purpose of this position will be to provide Supervision and Training for the Child Protective Service teams including Home Services, Foster Care and Agency Facilitator. Duties include planning, case assignment, coordination of work flow, case review and consultation; staff training, resolving problems and ensuring that quality services are provided to the community. The successful candidate will have a considerable knowledge of laws, regulations and policies which are applicable. Responsibilities To be effective in this position you must have a thorough knowledge of social work principles, techniques, and practices and their application to complex casework, group work and community problems.
- Provides supervision and managerial functions including planning, organizing/directing, training, setting work standards, reviewing work, counseling and disciplining and performing other personnel functions for lower-level social workers, students, interns and other staff members.
- Must often work with complex and involved family dynamics, acute to severe medical and/or emotional disorders and mental illnesses that the client may possess as well as handle emergencies and crises as they arise-on an almost daily basis.
- Serves a rotational on-call and back up schedule for emergency situations involving the need to be available after hours for child welfare needs.
