Social Worker I

The Services Intake Unit provides assistance and resources to individuals and families in order to alleviate crises. The Medicaid transportation program is administered by this Unit. The worker in this position must be familiar with agency programs, resources and eligibility criteria to assist persons in crisis and access appropriate services and assistance. Programs administered by the worker include crisis fuel programs, general assistance, Emergency Food and Shelter Program, TANF Emergency Assistance, Medicaid transportation, disability determination transportation vouchers, Christmas Cheer, and referrals to other agencies and/or resources in the area.
