Social Worker IAT-Foster Care

This position primarily involves duties related to services for foster children and foster families.  Worker completes in-depth assessments of families, social histories, court summaries and narrative reports.  Timely documentation is expected and subject to supervisory and State review.  Worker also testifies in court proceedings and develops short and/or long range placement and service plans.  Worker provides ongoing foster care services for children in placement.  Worker provides counseling to assist foster families in identifying emotional conflicts, role confusion, and patterns of interaction, developmental deficits and problems in self-perception related to placement.  Worker works with the family of origin to support reunification so long as that remains the permanent plan for the children.  Worker refers families to appropriate services to address issues as needed.   Worker will assist with recruiting new foster families.  Worker will be involved in the rotation of on-call duties during evenings and weekends.  The employee is required to assist in the operation of a community shelter in the event of an emergency and other duties as assigned by the Director.
