Job Summary
Provide Foster Care and In-Home social work services to monitor and maintain the safety of children where neglect or abuse has been identified. Conduct assessments that accurately identify strengths and needs of the family system and assess risk of continuing harm to the children. Work to strengthen the family’s capacity to protect and nurture the children through referrals to community resources. Model and support appropriate behaviors that will enhance family functioning. Arrange for appropriate alternative placements when children are not safe within their own homes. Competently testify in court when necessary. Document case information thoroughly and timely. Provide consistent contact and follow-up with families. Sharing after hours, on-call duties with other staff is required.
Fluency in Spanish is beneficial but is not required. English speaking applicants should apply.
Minimum Qualifications
MSW from an accredited school of social work and completion of the Child Welfare Collaborative; MSW from an accredited school of social work plus one year directly related experience; BSW from an accredited school of social work and completion of the Child Welfare Collaborative plus one year directly related experience; BSW from an accredited school of social work plus two years directly related experience; four year degree in a human service field plus three years directly related experience; four year college or university degree plus four years of directly related experience. NC driver’s license desired.

Salary grade 65; $50,927
