JOB TITLE:                       Social Worker II – Adult Services DEPARTMENT:               Social Services SALARY:                           Based on experience


DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The worker in this position received screens and researches reports of adult abuse, neglect and/or exploitation. The worker also responds to calls that do not meet the criteria for Adult Protective Services (APS) and assesses those disabled adults for other Adult services programs, which are voluntary, that may assist the disabled adult. This position is assigned the case management of the Adult Daycare and Staywell Centers in Randolph County, making visits to these centers and completing all required paperwork for licensure. The worker may be assigned other duties as needed.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: A Bachelor’s in social work from an appropriately accredited institution; Bachelor’s degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and one year directly related experience. Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two years directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

SPECIAL COMMENTS: Requires valid N.C. driver’s license, good driving record and transportation for use at work. Oral interview and written test will be performed. The social worker occasionally works on weekends and holidays. A verbal Spanish test will be given if applicant lists Spanish as a second language. OFFICIAL college transcripts must accompany application in order for application to be considered complete.
