One (1) Full Time Social Worker II – Adult Services

Department of Social Services   Duties and Responsibilities:  This Special Assistance In-Home (SA/IH) position provides case management to elderly and/or disabled adults so that they may live independently in a private living arrangement in the community; The purpose of the SA/IH Program is to help low income adults meet their basic needs with a supplement to their income that will cover daily necessities such as food, shelter, clothing, utilities, transportation, etc. and enable them to live safely at home; will participate in the rotation of on-call duties with other social workers in the Adult Services units.   Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from an accredited school of social work, or a four- year college or university degree in a human services field plus one year of social work or counseling experience, or a four-year college or university degree plus two years of social work or counseling experience.  At least one year’s experience working with target population is strongly preferred.  Experience with Medicaid program is helpful.  Knowledge of community resources is strongly preferred.   College transcripts should be attached.   Applications must be obtained, fully completed, and submitted to Henderson County HRD by mail 112 First Avenue West, Hendersonville, NC 28792, by email (hrd@hendersoncountync.gov), or by fax (828) 698-6184.  Please see our website, www.hendersoncountync.gov/hr and refer to the Additional Applicant Information section for more detailed instructions.   The deadline for application is:  5:00 pm on March 11, 2022   Starting range:   $21.34 - $34.89 per hour Hiring rate will be determined based on qualifications and internal equity.
