Social Worker II – Foster Care

The primary purpose of the Person County Department of Social Services are to alleviate emotional and economic distress among the people of the county.  The Child Welfare Services Unit assures that the emotional, social, physical and economic needs of child(ren) in the custody of the agency and in adoptive placements are met. The primary goals of this worker are to recruit, interview and train potential foster and adoptive parents to care for children in the custody of the agency.  Once they are licensed as foster parents, this worker will continue to work with these parents to assure that they meet all standards to maintain their license with the state, provide them with ongoing training and support to ensure the parents are able to meet the overall well-being needs of the children in their care.
