Job Description
Description of Work: This position is responsible for providing child foster care services that includes, but not limited to case management activities aimed at working with minor children in the legal care of the agency, their families and foster care providers to achieve legal permanence through reunification, legal custody or guardianship or adoption; preparing for and presenting testimony in court on assigned foster care cases; coordinating and/or providing court-ordered supervised visitation between foster children and their families; and arranging a broad array of services to support foster families and families in the community, etc.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements: Knowledge and understanding of advanced social work investigative and assessment techniques. Considerable knowledge of legal and administrative aspects of social services programs. Ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with members of caseload and their families as well as with civic, legal, medical, social, and religious organizations. Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, orally and in writing. Ability to plan and execute work effectively. .
Minimum Training and Experience Requirements: : Master’s degree in social work from an accredited school of social work; Bachelor's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work and completion of the Child Welfare Collaborative(Child Welfare positions only); Bachelor’s degree in social work from an accredited school of social work and one year directly related experience; Master’s degree in counseling in a human services field and one year of social work or counseling; Bachelor’s degree in a human services field from an accredited college or university and two years directly related experience; Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and three years of directly related experience.
Special Requirements: Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
