Social Worker III – Adult Services

Duties and Responsibilities:  The Guardianship social worker is the case manager for adjudicated incompetent adults for whom the Clerk of Court has appointed Henderson County Department of Social Services as the guardian.  The social worker will also assess individuals who have been referred to Henderson County Department of Social Services due to claims of incompetence.  The social worker will participate in the rotation of on-call duties with other social workers in the Adult Services units.  The social worker will also be responsible for the duties of representative payee for adults who need help with bill paying. Occasionally, the social worker may be responsible for assisting with Adult Protective Services evaluations or mobilization. Qualifications:  Bachelor’s in Social Work from an accredited school of social work, or a four year college or university degree in a human services field plus one year of social work or counseling experience, or a four year college or university degree plus two years of social work or counseling experience. At least one year of experience in working with the target population is strongly preferred.  Experience with Medicaid Program is helpful.  Some training or experience in medical field, such as nursing, is helpful.  Knowledge of community resources is strongly preferred.
