This social work position provides placement and adoption services for children (ages 0 – 18). The social worker in this position will demonstrate a knowledge of social work principles, techniques, and practices, and their application to complex casework, group work and community problems. Be knowledgeable of a wide range of behavioral and psycho social problems and their treatment. Ensure that services provided follow State and Federal policies governing Foster Care/Placement and Adoption Svc.
Work with community partners to include GAL program, schools, medical personnel and mental health professionals to ensure the well-being needs of the children and families are properly addressed. Perform client and family assessments for cases open for foster care and adoption services. Make referrals for follow-up services when necessary, preparing court and adoption summaries, testify in court, attend Child and Family Team meetings, permanency planning reviews, and other meetings to support the plan of the children while providing support and guidance to Foster and Adoptive parents.
