Social Worker Supervisor (Foster Home Licensing)

This position requires independent decision making, assessment skills, professional judgment, intercommunity collaboration, and knowledge of local resources.  The person in this role must be able to effectively communicate with a variety of persons from various socioeconomic backgrounds and a variety of mental capabilities. This individual will lead a team of Social Workers to recruit, train, license, and support licensed foster families as they address the placement needs of youth in custody ranging from ages 0-21. This individual will also gather and evaluate unit data to measure performance; review case records for accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and county standards; review statutes and protocols on a regular basis; conduct individual and group conferences with staff; create skill development plans for licensed foster families;coordinate referrals and placement of children with community partners; and provide direction and guidance to staff to ensure the safety and well-being needs of children are met while working in conjunction with the treatment team to meet the permanent plan for children. This individual is responsible for assigning cases to Social Workers, coordinating work flow operations, and supervising the staff through case review and consultation which requires considerable guidance to the staff in case consultation. This individual must be able to implement work standards and expectations within this unit as defined by the State of North Carolina Licensing Regulatory Department, North Carolina statutes and county/agency policies. The typical work schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Duties may include work after hours to assist Social Work staff with locating foster home placements.
