Job Description

Sr. Income Maintenance Caseworkers on the Quality Assurance and Training Team are responsible for implementing auditing processes and mentoring/coaching new employees as well as tracking their progression throughout the training process. Work of this nature requires the employee to have a subject matter expertise and a current working knowledge of various programs within Economic Services including but not limited to: FNS, Medicaid, Child Care Subsidy, and Energy assistance programs, to ensure a concise and uniformed message is delivered in regard to training. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills, group presentation skills, organizational skills, mathematical and analytical skills, and have the ability to multitask in a fast paced, high volume work environment. The candidates should also be proficient in NCFAST, Microsoft software and Google applications as well as be familiar with the computer systems associated with the Family & Children's Medicaid, Adult Medicaid, TANF, Daycare, and Food & Nutrition Service programs. These Sr. Income Maintenance Caseworkers should also have in-depth knowledge of all of the programs & policies mentioned above. Work involves staying abreast of changing regulations, rules and procedures for each program as well as staying adept in Document Management Training in Support of Eligibility Determinations. These Sr. Income Maintenance Caseworkers will also develop a broad range of training materials that will be implemented by as needed with new and existing employees. The primary hours of work are from 8:00am until 5:00pm but flexibility in scheduling may be needed to meet the needs of the division.
  • To partner and collaborate with the various program areas within the department to understand their business needs, goals, and issues
  • To become a subject matter expert of the various business processes used within the department
  • To document all essential work processes with flow charts and supporting documentation
  • To help ensure that all essential processes are completed in a timely and accurate manner
  • To help users document issues that arise with any business processes and systems
  • To coordinate with County IT on any data issues or new system needs, working together to find solutions
Graduation from high school or GED and two (2) years of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker or closely related experience. A higher education level may be considered as a substitution for all or part of the experience requirement. Knowledge of NCFAST is preferred. Ability to type 45 words per minute (or faster) is preferred. A driver's license is essential due to required community meetings and attendance at training off-site. Partners and collaborates with the various program areas within the department to understand their business needs, goals, processes and issues. Acts as a subject matter expert of the various functional processes used within the department. Defines goals and recommends technology and/or processes for continuous improvement. May at times be required to manipulate data to ensure deliverables are done timely and correctly. Creates standard reports and queries to ensure data and system integrity.
