Sr. Social Worker Supervisor – Visitation / Transportation

The Forsyth County Department of Social Services is seeking a Sr. Social Worker Supervisor to direct and oversee the work activities of a social work unit as defined by state/federal guidelines, NC statutes, and county/agency policies.  This individual will gather and evaluate unit data to measure performance, review case records, and dictation for accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and county standards, statutes, and protocols on a regular basis.  The Sr. Social Worker Supervisor will also conduct conferences, evaluate case situations and progress, and provide direction and guidance toward case completion to ensure compliance. This position is responsible for directing and overseeing the work activities of a social work unit that includes five (5) Transportation Staff members and three(3) Visitation Social Workers that is responsible for the delivery of transportation and supervised visitation services. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to: -  Coach and train staff; -  Organize and direct the work of others; -  Monitor work for compliance with federal and state standards, statutes, and    protocols; -  Complete statistical reports accurately and timely; -  Assess work performance of others on an ongoing basis; -  Complete performance appraisals in a timely manner and; -  Evaluate Unit performance. There may be occasions when the Sr. Social Work Supervisor will have to work after 5:00 p.m. to assist social work staff.  There may also be occasions when the Sr. Social Worker Supervisor will be asked to provide supervisory coverage after standard business hours of 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., including some holidays. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree from an accredited school of social work and two years of social work or counseling experience or; Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of social work and three years of social work or counseling experience or; Master's degree in a counseling field and three years of social work or counseling experience or; A four year degree in a human services field or related curriculum including at least 15 semester hours in courses related to social work or counseling and four years of social work or counseling or; Graduation from a four-year college or university and five years experience in rehabilitation counseling, pastoral counseling, group work, or community organization. A higher education level may be considered as a substitution for all or part of the experience requirement. Valid driver's license required. Essential Duties: Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: -  Reviews program objectives and service delivery needs with staff and formulates specific goals and objectives for the assigned program area; -  Assigns cases to staff and maintains workload balance, makes changes in work procedures to meet program demands, and presents recommendations to   management on issues which impact programmatic goals, objectives, and policies; -  Provides limited input in the development, justification, or allocation of funds and may manage a small unit budget necessary for staff administrative expenditures; -  Provides on the job training for staff and makes arrangements for staff to receive formal training when offered; -Ensures that policies, rules, and regulations are followed and; -  Monitors the work of subordinate staff through case reviews, progress reports,  conferences, and informal discussions to ensure compliance with operational standards and established policies.
