POSITION:Â SOCIAL WORKER II (WORK FIRST)
TYPE OF POSITION: PERMANENT/FULL TIME. MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY 8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
GRADE:Â 67
SALARY:Â $36,904.00 fully qualified (A WORK AGAINST WILL BE CONSIDERED)
DUTIES:
Provide services to the citizens and families of Martin County. Employee is responsible for the total process of determining/redetermining applicant eligibility for services. Work includes interviewing of clients to obtain required information, completing initial applications, verifying the information obtained, determining eligibility or completing scheduled program reviews and assisting with Child Care applications and redetermination.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct contact with the clients, representatives and collaterals is required. Employee decisions affect the well-being of the clients who are the recipients of benefits. Provides intake services, which consist of interviewing, determining need and eligibility, and assisting in meeting those needs through resources within or outside of the agency. Make appropriate referrals in order to fulfil the needs of the clients. Assist Work First clients in becoming self-sufficient by linking them with resources and skills that help them secure and maintain employment. Backup for Child Care and Energy programs. Employee will, in time of disaster, either man-made or natural, will have to man shelters and execute duties not spelled out in this job order.
KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITES:
Considerable knowledge of social work principles, techniques, and practices and their application to individual casework group work and community problems. Knowledge of the psychosocial, socioeconomic and behavioral problems and their treatment. Knowledge of governmental and private organizations and community resources. Knowledge of laws, regulations and policies which govern the program. Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely and to plan and execute work.
Must be proficient in computer programs. NCFAST experience is PREFERRED.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Â
Bachelor’s degree in social work from an accredited school of social work or; Bachelor’s
degree in a human services field from an accredited college or university and one year
directly related experience or; Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
and two years directly related experience.
