Job Description

Description of Job Duties:    The primary purpose of this position is to assure that various types of adult care homes operate within the applicable rules, regulations and laws through an ongoing planning and monitoring process. Activities are both consultative and supervisory with the goal of assuring safe and quality care for the residents of these homes. Additionally, emphasis is placed on promoting operations that exceed minimum requirements. Adult care homes monitored range from small homes with as few as two residents, such as family care homes and homes for the developmentally disabled, to large adult care homes with as many as two hundred adults, many diagnosed with multiple disabling conditions. Included in this mix are specialty homes offering care to adults diagnosed with AIDS and other long term, terminal illnesses. The goal of this position is to foster a protective environment for frail and vulnerable adults served by the adult care home industry. This position recommends Type A or Type B penalties to the Division for non-compliance with regulations.  This position is required to be on call for Adult Services from Monday at 5:00 pm to the following Monday at 8:00 am on a rotating weekly basis. This employee will learn and use programs Compass Pilot and Compass Appointments (Compass Co-Pilot is issued a DSS iPad) as required by the position to do but not limited to: request leave, schedule/receive appropriate appointments, set up virtual files, scan/retrieve documents, and receive/send tasks. This position also serves as backup APS and is on rotation after work hours. Educational/Experience Requirements:
  • Master's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work; or
  • Bachelor's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work and one year directly related experience; or
  • Master's degree in counseling in a human services field and one year of social work or counseling; or
  • Bachelor's degree in a human services field from an accredited college or university and two years directly related experience; or
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three years of directly related experience.
