Job Description

Job Description: This position will provide continuous quality improvement (CQI) in the Child Welfare and Adult Services Units and assist the Program Manager/Social Work Supervisor III in Adult Services and Program Managers of Child Welfare with providing supervision to a small team. This position will be responsible for providing technical assistance and consultation to management and staff by providing goal setting, data collection, data analysis, and other basic qualitative and quantitative human services research methodology. This involves reviewing and staffing cases with the workers to assist in determining the best way to assist the client.  Employee must keep abreast of all policies, rules and laws that impact upon the work of the unit and be able to assist staff in its interpretation.         Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of methods and principles of casework supervision and training. Considerable knowledge of social work principles, techniques, and practices, and their application to complex casework, group work, and community problems. Considerable knowledge of family and group dynamics and a range of intervention techniques. Considerable knowledge of governmental and private organizations and resources in the community. Considerable knowledge of the laws, regulations, and policies which govern social work programs. Considerable knowledge of behavioral and socio-economic problems and their treatment. Ability to supervise, train, or orient lower-level social workers, students, interns, or other staff. Computer skills. Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely and to plan and execute work effectively.   Minimum Education & Experience: Master's degree in psychology, social work, education, health, business administration, or related human services field from an accredited institution and two years of related experience; or a bachelor's degree in one of the fields listed above from an accredited institution and three years of experience as indicated above; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.   Physical Requirements: Must be able to physically perform the basic life support functions of reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Must be able to perform sedentary/light work which includes exerting up to 10-20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
