What You'll Be Doing
The Wake County Health & Human Services Department seeks a dynamic leader for the role of Adult & Family Services Assistant Division Director to assist with the management of the Economic & Social Services Division. The Division provides a wide array of services including, Medicaid, Food & Nutrition Services, Energy, Work First, Child Care Subsidy, Child Support, Employment Services, Adult Protective Services, Guardianship, and Adult Care Monitoring. This position will assist with providing oversight of the daily operations of the Division and assist in its integration and coordination with other divisions. The Assistant Director works closely with the Division Director in identifying expansion needs and providing business justifications. Also, the Assistant Director will ensure that support functions such as staff training, quality assurance, and technical support are meeting the needs of the Division and are staffed appropriately. Key responsibilities of the Adult & Family Services Assistant Division Director include:- Supporting Program Managers in ensuring programmatic compliance and effective service delivery to customers
- Evaluating the daily operations, business practices, space needs and customer service issues to operate in a cost-effective and efficient manner
- Assisting with the management of the Social Services budget
- Ensuring that accurate data is available and accessible to management staff at all levels to inform decision making and allocation of resources
- Regularly reviewing programmatic compliance in each program administered by the Division, ensuring that corrective action plans are developed as needed and monitored for effectiveness
- Working closely with Program Managers on continuous improvement activities
- Monitoring trends in service utilization, caseload growth, and staff turnover and retention
The Basics (Required Education and Experience)
- Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Health, or a related field
- Five (5) years of experience in Human Services, preferably in the area of employment
- Equivalent education and experience are accepted
Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)
- Seven (7) years of experience in the management of one or more Social Services programs
