Job Description
The County is currently accepting applications for the position of Income Maintenance
Caseworker III. This position follows State and County procedures to determine and redetermine
applicant eligibility in all Medicaid Programs including medical and financial
assistance for individuals and families, assistance for individuals residing in a private living
setting who are aged, blind, and disabled, individuals requesting skilled nursing assistance
at home or skilled nursing facility, or special assistance to help pay the cost of care in adult
care facilities. This is a contract position located at a hospital in Concord.
Requires the ability to comprehend complex eligibility criteria, apply Federal, state, and
County rules and procedures to individual circumstances, meet deadlines/timeframes,
manage assigned workload, read and review data contained in an electronic format,
determine the appropriate data to be entered into the NC FAST computer system, complete
the data entry into the system in an accurate and timely manner, manage multiple computer
systems efficiently, and demonstrate excellent keyboarding skills and computer knowledge.
Minimum requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Business
Administration, Paralegal Technology, or a related area and two years of experience as an
IM Caseworker; or an Associate’s Degree in a related area and three years of experience as
an IM Caseworker; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Degree/
Coursework must be from an appropriately accredited institution.
Starting salary $45,700-$50,200 (commensurate with experience) and excellent benefits
package.
