What You'll Be Doing

Program and Staff Development is a Division within Economic Services, which consists of Trainers, NC Fast Over the Shoulder Support, Quality Control, and Appeals. The Economic Benefits Trainer is a hybrid role, whose primary focus is on Adult Medicaid Programs such as, SA, PLA, LTC, CAP, SSI, and PACE. A hybrid position moves to where they are needed to perform the required work. The goal of this position is to create a “High Performing Work Team.”  Primary duties include:

• Designing, developing and provide training to new hires and seasoned staff
• Ensuring consistent, high quality training curriculum is developed and communicated, that increases the performance of individuals
• Participating in the analysis, design, development, and facilitation of training efforts and integrating best practices
• Implementing organizational development services and coordinating programming for professional development
• Evaluating and reporting on program effectiveness

The Basics (Required Education and Experience)

• Bachelor's degree
• Three years of job-related experience
• Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)

 

• Three (3) years of experience working within Adult Medicaid Programs (PLA, SA, LTC, CAP, PACE and SSI) within a State or County Department of Economic Self-Sufficiency
• Exceptional interpersonal skills
• Bachelor's Degree in a related field

• Skilled at identifying problems, determining possible solutions and working collaboratively to resolve issues
• Effective writing skills and knowledge of adult learning, instructional design, and curriculum development techniques
• Knowledge of leadership/management/organizational development, assessment protocols, change management strategies and processes
• Skilled at operating personal computers and using various Microsoft Office products and web-based systems, etc.
