Child Support Supervisor II

The Granville County Child Support Supervisor II is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating the child support program. The Child Support Supervisor II provides administrative and technical supervision to ten professional staff members (one Lead Child Support Agent, two Child Support Agent I, and seven Child Support Agent II). The supervisor orientates, schedules, directs, and reviews the daily work of subordinates’ staff and manages a caseload of relative (employee-related) and conflict cases.  The supervisor stays abreast of new program and policy developments and trains (and/or delegates as appropriate) all unit staff, coordinates work flow between other units within the agency, and establishes work plans and work flow.  The supervisor ensures all state and federal performance measures are met or exceeded, develops strategies for continuous quality improvement, works closely with state and community partners, testifies in court, when needed, etc. The supervisor keeps the Director informed regarding performance, staffing, and changes in the program, and develops proactive strategies to enhance services. The supervisor resolves concerns from parents, works closely with local judicial and law enforcement, the agency attorney, clerk of court, attends community meetings relating to parental support and employment, and provides information about services to the community. The Supervisor participates in the recruitment process by interviewing and recommending candidates to the Social Services Director.
