We are seeking a Human Resource Aide II who shares our common core values:

- Facilitating medical, dental & therapy appointments for children experiencing foster care in a timely and consistent manner.
- Ensuring medical records are retrieved in a timely and consistent manner to ensure children in foster care receive the proper medical and therapeutic care needed
- Working with foster care social workers to ensure the well-being needs of children experiencing foster care are met. Working with Child Welfare administrative staff to ensure excellent customer service for citizens.
- Ensuring mandated time frames are met for medical and dental services for children experiencing foster care.
- Schedule and confirm appointments by phone and notify clients, social workers, and providers of pickup and drop off times
- Transport and accompany minor children in foster care to medical appointments in a safe and timely manner
- Provide direct supervision of children during transportation and while waiting for service providers
- Serve as communication link between service provider, foster parent, and social worker regarding medical appointments
- Serve as advocate for children, reporting any health or other concerns to appropriate parties, immediately as necessary
- Request and retrieve medical records, birth records, and completion of forms for children’s appointments (those in DSS custody)
- Fill prescriptions when requested by social worker or placement provider
- Provide accurate weekly documentation concerning Medicaid services provided to children in Foster Care, including keying information into applicable foster care databases and websites
- Complete reports and other documentation, including but not limited to, day sheets, time sheets, mileage reports, travel logs, and vehicle maintenance logs
- Participate in periodic training (i.e. blood borne pathogens, CPR, first aid, defensive driving, technology, public relations, problem solving, effective customer service)
- Assist Child Welfare administrative staff with answering phones and assisting clients in Child Welfare
- High School diploma or GED equivalent and 1 year of experience working with children or related experience
- A valid NC driver’s license with safe driving record
- Effective computer skills with familiarity in using computers to complete data entry and mobile devices such as tablets and phones
- Ability to work independently, with effective judgment skills and strong initiative and flexibility
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with clients, internal staff, and professionals in the community and work in a team environment
- Ability to work well with children, some of whom may have behavioral issues, and a good understanding of child development
- Strong problem solving skills
- This is considered medium work; lifting up to 50 pounds on a regular basis to carry and assist young children to doctor appointments
