The Income Maintenance Caseworker III (IMC III) - Food and Nutrition Program Specialist is a member of the Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) unit and reports to the FNS Program Manager.  The IMC III completes second-party case reviews, report management, and minimal casework functions.  The employee is responsible for identifying error trends and assisting with training.  The goal of this position is to ensure the agency is meeting quality and timeliness standards within the FNS unit. Job responsibilities include:
  • Conduct second-party case reviews.
  • Assist with training
  • Troubleshoot, send cases to the help desk when appropriate, maintain and monitor the help desk log
  • Compiles and enters data into NC FAST and county document management system
  • Assist with vacant caseloads as needed
  • Review weekly NC Fast postcards and provide weekly training/review for staff

  • NC FAST FNS Certification (or ability to obtain certification)

Must be available to work after normal business hours and during emergency situations. Education and Experience
  • Graduation from an accredited associate degree program in Human Services Technology, Social Services Associated, Paralegal Technology, Business Administration, Secretarial, or a closely related curriculum; or
  • Graduation from high school and two years of paraprofessional, clerical, or other public contact , which included negotiating, interviewing, explaining information, gathering and compiling of data, analysis of data and/or performance of mathematical program; or
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
One (1) year experience as Income Maintenance Caseworker II required. Physical Requirements
Must be physically able to operate a variety of office equipment.  Must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pound of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
