DESCRIPTION:
The Johnston County Department of Social Services has an immediate opening for an Income Maintenance Supervisor II position in the Quality Assurance Unit, located at 714 North Street, Smithfield. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES This position will provide leadership and daily supervision to Income Maintenance Investigator IIs. This position will provide direction to Program Integrity staff, in identifying, investigating and resolving fraudulent complaints and allegations, while ensuring processes are in compliance with State Policies and Procedures. This position will compile, analyze and deliver various reports. This position will review and approve claims both established and unsubstantiated. This position will work closely with other units in coordination of hearings and investigations. This position is expected to hold quarterly conferences with investigators as well as monthly unit meetings. This position will complete all probationary and annual employee performance evaluations. This position will participate in preparation for various State Audits. The primary purpose of this position is to provide oversight of a Quality Assurance Program across Economic Services to ensure compliance with Federal and State requirements and assist with the improvement of quality service delivery for Health and Human Services clients. To ensure consistency in the identified QA review process and in the application of policy/procedures from a programmatic standpoint. Participate, assure, and sustain the Economic Services model of Continuous Quality Improvement. To assist in hiring, develop, evaluate performance, and provide feedback and disciplinary action as needed; develop and maintain a positive teamwork environment; provide effective, clear and timely communication.   KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Considerable knowledge of all income maintenance programs, forms, and documents used in determining eligibility. Considerable knowledge of the use of the income maintenance manuals. Considerable knowledge of needs, problems, and attitudes of disadvantaged persons. General knowledge of all agency programs and services. General knowledge of community services and programs which could affect the client/applicant. General knowledge of the budget process. Good mathematical, reasoning, and computational skills. Ability to instruct, organize, direct, and supervise lower level employees. Ability to learn basic supervisory/management skills. Ability to communicate effectively with workers, supervisors, applicants, and community agencies to obtain pertinent data and to interpret rules and regulations. Ability to present information orally and in written form.
DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Three years of experience as a caseworker or investigator in an income maintenance program, preferably with one year of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
